Dealing with dangerous trees.
The application should be submitted to the local council in case of any tree or any branch, trunk, fruit or any other tree within the territory of the local council causing or likely to cause any damage to a building or in relation to a tree dangerous to the people traveling on a public highway.
- Application fee Rs. 850/=
- In the case of jackfruit trees and date palm trees, tree felling is permitted subject to the cutting permit of the Regional Secretary.
- If the owner’s case is pending, it should be mentioned in the application and I will deal with the tree as per the order of the court.
- After checking all the applications, the tree should be removed at the expense of the owner of the tree and if the applicant agrees to bear the cost, it should be removed at his/her own expense.
- If the owner of the tree violates the orders of the council regarding the tree, the price accepted by the council will be called and the tree will be cut down under the minimum bid amount and the amount will be recovered from the tree owner.
